Iberdrola Energía Internacional: a platform for growth
Iberdrola Energía Internacional is Iberdrola's subholding that groups together its businesses in Germany, France, Italy, Greece and Portugal, as well as Australia and other countries. It currently has assets of more than €10 B and in September its EBITDA was almost €450 M, an increase of 48%.
Iberdrola Energía Internacional's renewable energy capacity exceeded 4,000 MW in the third quarter of 2024 - the latest data available - and its production grew by 114%, driven by a 114% increase in offshore wind, a technology in which it has wind farms in France (Saint Brieuc, with 496 MW) and Germany (Wikinger, with 350 MW, Baltic Eagle, with 476 MW, whose installation has just been completed, and Windanker, under construction), as well as other projects in Australia and Japan.
In onshore wind and solar, Iberdrola Energía Internacional has 1,200 MW installed in Australia, where it also has 400 MW under construction, and some 1,500 MW operating in Italy, Portugal, Greece, Poland and Hungary.
Iberdrola Energía Internacional therefore concentrates markets that have seen significant growth in recent years for Iberdrola, Europe's leading electricity company in terms of market capitalisation and one of the three largest in the world, with a stock market value of more than €80 B.
