Garazi Sánchez is one of the biggest names in Spanish sport right now. The Basque surfer is a two-time Spanish champion and runner-up in European Championships and has her sights set on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games. Even though she does not consider herself a role model, as a result of her success many girls no longer see surfing as a men's sport and this has given them the courage to give it a go.

The last UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) was held from 2 to 13 December in Madrid (Spain), under the presidency of Chile. That time, discussions were focused on climate and energy scenarios that will help to keep global temperatures from rising more than 1.5 ºC. This is the equivalent of achieving global net-zero CO2 emissions by mid-21st century, an objective with which Iberdrola group — one of the official sponsors — is fully aligned.
Having been 20 years ahead of the current energy transition, Iberdrola is present all over the world contributing to consolidate a global economy that is greener, more digital and sustainable. The group consolidates its business model based on more renewable energy, more networks, more storage and more smart solutions for our customers.and we are a reference in the fight against climate change.

As part of its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Iberdrola Group focuses primarily on achieving SDG 13 – Climate Action – by actively and resolutely contributing to a sustainable, low-carbon future in the fight against climate change.
Iberdrola plans to install electric vehicle charging stations in the main motorways and traffic corridors of Spain, as well as in the public access spaces of the main cities. The plan, which includes the start-up of at least one rapid recharge station every 50 km, will allow travel throughout the country with autonomy.
