At Iberdrola we attach great importance to our suppliers’ sustainable practices, and SMEs are fundamental to this commitment. Find out about all our initiatives to strengthen the sustainability of the small and medium-sized companies we work with.

We offer tools that help small and medium-sized enterprises play a full and active role in the energy transition.


In recent years, Iberdrola has developed an innovative strategy to support the creation and consolidation of new sustainable, transparent, and ethical business projects. It has strengthened its commitment to SME suppliers through various initiatives that seek to improve the profile of small and medium-sized companies as drivers of sustainable development, among other objectives. Some of these initiatives are presented below.

  • Iberdrola is holding the 3rd "Training Programme: Sustainable Suppliers". A free and exclusive programme for the professionals at our SME suppliers, developed by the UN Global Compact Spain and the United Kingdom, ICEX Spain Export and Investments and the ICO Foundation.

    This programme offers an excellent opportunity to improve knowledge, align with sustainability best practices and increase your company's competitiveness, and join more than 350 SMEs from the Iberdrola Group worldwide that have completed the programme in previous editions.

    Programme details:
     

    • Duration: Approximately 5 months (March to August 2025).
    • Dedication: 90 minutes a week to study the materials.
    • Languages available: Spanish, English and Portuguese.
    • Training divided into: 10 on-demand sessions and 7 live sessions.

  • In collaboration with the UN Global Compact Spain, we offer a pioneering training plan with exclusive content on sustainability and incentives for CEOs and managers of small and medium-sized enterprises.

    In these sessions, the main trends, opportunities, regulations and practical actions on sustainability are discussed in depth so that CEOs can integrate them into their business, and various additional resources are included to further explore these aspects.

    • Carbon footprint is an environmental indicator that reflects the total greenhouse gas emissions from your organisation's business.
    • You can calculate your company’s and its business’ carbon footprint easily and for free at https://mihuellacarbono.com/
    • By answering a few simple questions you’ll get the calculation and a personalised report with a plan of measures to reduce your carbon footprint.

  • Iberdrola Clientes offers our SME suppliers an exclusive programme of support and incentives for decarbonisation, including:

    • Free access* to the Net Zero Emissions Manager emissions reduction management platform for 6 months, with expert support. You will be able to:

      -     Calculate your company's CO2 footprint.
      -     Receive an Energy Diagnosis of your site.
      -     Obtain and manage your Decarbonisation Plan.
    • Advice and personalised cross-cutting support: onboarding, energy diagnosis and decarbonisation plan.
    • Personalised attention and preferential conditions with discounts on electricity connection and smart decarbonisation solutions for Iberdrola’s suppliers, as well as managing applications for grants through Iberdrola's Subsidies Portal.

      -     Solar photovoltaic installation and maintenance.
      -     Charging point installation and maintenance.
      -     Aerothermal and air-conditioning system installation and maintenance.
      -     Carbon footprint calculation and energy audit.
      -     Offsetting emissions through our nature-based projects.

  • Iberdrola encourages its suppliers to improve their environmental, ethical and social performance through actions that promote excellence in their sustainability management.

    Suppliers* that are classified as a Sustainable Supplier according to the Sustainability Assessment Model of Iberdrola will be able to access a new line of financing called Sustainable Confirming. This line offers improved discount conditions for the early collection of invoices:

    Interest EURIBOR + 1.25%.
    Assignment fee 0.10%

    *These Sustainable Confirming conditions are aimed at Spanish SME suppliers who have been awarded contracts worth more than €700,000 and are subject to prior validation by Iberdrola following your request. For other cases, please enquire.
