Neoenergia School of Electricians receives visit from Spain's Minister for Equality
The School of Electricians at Neoenergia, Iberdrola’s Brazilian subsidiary, was visited in Brasilia by the Spanish Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo, to learn first-hand about the women's training project. The project is recognised by the UN as a global example of female empowerment.
The diplomatic visit took place last Thursday, a month after Neoenergia celebrated the milestone of having trained a thousand women at its School of Electricians. The distributor's initiative gained international recognition by being singled out as a global example of one of the Women's Empowerment Principles by ‘WeEmpower’, a UN Women programme together with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the European Union.
