The Chief of Defence Staff (JEMAD), Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, has given recognition to the chairman of Iberdrola group, Ignacio Galán, for the company's commitment to the Higher Center for National Defense Studies (CESEDEN) and its support and dissemination of defence culture.
The award ceremony took place during the inauguration of the CESEDEN's 2021-2022 academic year, which was presided over by the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, and the Minister of Universities, Manuel Castells. During the event, the JEMAD highlighted Iberdrola's collaboration in promoting various training and research projects.
Iberdrola and CESEDEN have recently signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of developing research and training programmes. This agreement ratifies the commitment of both entities to consolidate public-private R&Dschemes that enable the exchange of knowledge, provide institutions with new tools to improve the performance of their functions and enhance the competitiveness of companies. This agreement includes the financing of training activities, such as doctorates and master's degrees, as well as the implementation of new technologies to develop e-learning in the Armed Forces.
