Ignacio Galán takes part in the royal visit to the Basque Country
Iberdrola chairman, Ignacio Galán, accompanied the Spanish royals, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, during their visit to the Basque country.
Galán took part, together with the royal couple, in a meeting organised by the CEOE (the Spanish Confederation of Business Organisations) at which they were able to gain first hand insight into the Basque business perspective in the face of the financial uncertainty following the Covid-19 crisis.
At the meeting held at the Bilbao Museum of Fine Arts, which is supported by Iberdrola, the king and queen were accompanied by a delegation of 15 leading business figures from the Basque business world.
Prior to this important meeting, Ignacio Galán escorted the royals on a visit to the Guggenheim Museum — which Iberdrola has sponsored from its inception — where they toured the Olafur Eliasson. In Real Life exhibition, which is being sponsored by Iberdrola.
This collection includes some of the most important works already exhibited by the Danish artist as well as other new pieces created for this exhibition, in which he shows his deep commitment to society and the environment, as well as his concern for nature and sustainability.
After these visits Felipe VI and Letizia travelled to Vitoria, where they visited the San Prudencio Foundation's new headquarters.
San Prudencio is a charity dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility, which brings together nearly 400 companies and over 3,000 workers, and of which Iberdrola is a prominent member.
