The chairman of Iberdrola, Ignacio Galán, has held a meeting with the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, to analyze the actions that are being carried out in the recovery of the areas affected by the floods.

During the meeting, Mazón and Galán discussed the il-lumina project, through which the company will invest 100 million euros in the region to redesign the electricity distribution network and make it more resilient and robust.

The head of the Consell has valued the commitment of the entity "for our territory to accelerate the economic and social development of the Comunitat in such a fundamental matter as energy, and thus contribute to the reconstruction of the areas affected by the floods".

Mazón thanked the work done by Iberdrola employees after the floods to help citizens to recover normality. In fact, the company mobilized more than 500 workers from different parts of Spain to restore service to the approximately 180,000 customers affected, managing to restore it to 100% in just 72 hours.

For his part, Ignacio Galán conveyed "Iberdrola's firm commitment to this region and to the well-being of its citizens", a land to which the company has been linked since its origins almost 125 years ago and where its management committee met today.

Thus, the impact of the company's activity in the Valencian Community amounted to 875 million euros in 2023 and its fiscal contribution was more than 320 million euros. Iberdrola invested more than 265 million euros and made purchases of 185 million euros from 422 local suppliers.

This meeting is part of the round of meetings that the head of the Consell is holding with companies and financial institutions to analyze the recovery efforts of the municipalities affected by the floods.
