- It is the first electricity company in the Clean200 world ranking compiled by Corporate Knights and As You Sow.
Iberdrola is cleanest utility in the world according to the Clean200 ranking prepared by Corporate Knights and As You Sow. This list includes the companies that are leading the transition to a clean energy future.
The company chaired by Ignacio Galán is once again at the forefront of sustainability and corporate reputation according to the Clean200 ranking, which identifies the 200 largest listed companies based on their clean revenues. The list ranks companies according to the definitions set out in the Corporate Knights’ Sustainable Economy Taxonomy.
Clean200 is a joint project between As You Sow, a leading shareholder advocacy non-profit promoting values-aligned investing, and Corporate Knights, a research and media company focused on accelerating the transition to a sustainable economy.
This distinction is in addition to the fact that Iberdrola leads the electricity sector in the Sustainability Yearbook 2025 prepared by S&P, where it received the Top 1% S&P Global CSA Score. The largest European electricity company by stock market value obtained the best score in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices, the former Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
This leadership comes on top of the fact that Iberdrola has been in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for 25 consecutive years, making it the only European utility that has on the index this entire time.
Iberdrola is a global benchmark in sustainability. It has once again received the highest "A List" ranking from CPD on the list of the world's most transparent companies in climate change thanks to its commitment to disclosure, transparency, and environmental action. In addition to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class, it is on the main international sustainability indices such as Moody's ESG, MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS-ESG, EcoVadis and FTSE4Good, among many others.
Self-sufficiency and fighting climate change
Iberdrola continues to advance in its commitment to energy self-sufficiency and in its proactive role as an active agent in the fight against climate change. Iberdrola now has more than 44,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity installed worldwide and 84% of its electricity production is an emissions-free.
