Iberdrola secures two areas for offshore wind development in the Gulf of Maine.
Iberdrola, through its US company Avangrid, has been awarded two lease sites for floating offshore wind development in the waters of the Gulf of Maine, in the auction held by the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
The two lease areas have a potential of 3,000 MW to help meet the energy needs of the New England region and advance the US government's goal of 30,000 MW of offshore wind energy by 2030.
