Iberdrola España and ANFAC (the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers) have joined forces to promote the implementation of electric mobility in Spain, the only emission-free option currently available that also allows for progress in energy independence.
Both organisations consider this alliance key to promoting the sale of electric vehicles more strongly, definitively driving forward the development of public access charging infrastructure and advocating the implementation of effective public policies and incentives to meet the targets set by Europe and established in the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP).
Electric mobility not only facilitates the reduction of emissions and the improvement of air quality in cities, but also represents an economic boost to the country, both in the manufacture of vehicles and the construction of charging stations. These are areas that help to generate employment and foster innovation and the development of new technologies in the mobility and renewable energy sectors.
Iberdrola, with more than 8,400 charging points with a 100% renewable guarantee of origin (GO) in operation in Spain and 4,000 more in different phases of installation or activation, is the leading infrastructure operator. For its part, ANFAC, the main representative of the automotive sector in Spain, with more than 60 associated brands, makes them key partners in facing the challenges and opportunities posed by the electrification of mobility.
