FOTONOTICIA (11.12.2019)_GGreen New Deal demonstrates the leadership of the European Union to tackle the most serious and urgent problem the world faces On the occasion of the presentation on Wednesday of the pact known as Green New Deal, Iberdrola group’s president and CEO, Ignacio Galán, has declared that this agreement “demonstrates the leadership of the European Union to tackle the most serious and urgent problem facing the world with determination and ambition. It undoubtedly opens the door for other economic blocs and countries to go in the same direction”.
According to Galán, “through this plan, the European Union is also committed to taking advantage of all the opportunities presented by the fight against climate change. Encouraging investments in renewable energy, which is clean, safe and affordable, will create employment, improve air quality and, consequently, the health of citizens.
Iberdrola’s CEO also asserted his trust that “the Green New Deal will be the basis for a regulation that encourages investment, streamlines procedures and rewards those who have been transforming their business model for decades towards a green economy
