Ignacio Galán, Executive Chairman of Iberdrola, was interviewed on CNBC ahead of the inauguration of the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in Brittany. The piece highlighted the size and scale and investment that has gone into the Saint-Brieuc project, as well as Iberdrola’s leadership in renewables and grids, and its major investments across the world, including the UK and US.

Mr Galán shared optimistic insights about Europe's energy landscape, building on Mario Draghi's recent report, and emphasised Iberdrola's leadership in grid development across the US, Brazil, and France, highlighting the critical role of the grid in decarbonising and electrifying nations.

He discussed the industry's opportunities presented by the energy transition and affirmed Iberdrola's ongoing investment in offshore projects in the coming years. Addressing the upcoming US election, Mr Galán noted that both grid and renewables development have grown consistently in the US for many years, and that remained his expectation going forward.
