Avangrid extended to its power agreement with CPS Energy in the US

Avangrid, Iberdrola's US subsidiary, has extended its long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with CPS Energy, the country's largest municipal electricity and natural gas utility provider. Under the agreement, the Peñascal wind farm will add an additional 159.2 MW, doubling the contract from 160.8 MW to 320 MW. The additional energy capacity will help supply power to around 40,000 new homes.

Avangrid owns and operates seven renewable facilities in Texas, including the recently completed True North Solar project in Falls County. These plants have a combined operating capacity of nearly 1.6 gigawatts (GW), capable of supplying clean energy to approximately 400,000 homes, and have contributed more than $115 M in property taxes over their lifetime.
