Iberdrola also participates in large technology funds that promote sustainability and innovative business models through investments in start-ups.

By 2040, more than half (57 %) of passenger car sales will be electric, while electric buses will completely dominate the market, comprising more than four fifths of sales (81 %), according to clean energy analysts BloombergNEF (BNEF). The enthusiasm for a forthcoming electric vehicle (EV) revolution is palpable in many quarters, but practically speaking, it still seems a long way off.

The Spanish company SubSea Mechatronics (SSM) has developed an underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) called PIPEYE that will allow Iberdrola's team to inspect and clean the large pipelines of our power plants, under the highest quality and safety standards.

Solar photovoltaic energy is one of the most important and well-established renewable energy sources. For the past few years, floating solar PV has been gaining ground, which, according to the World Bank, could double installed capacity. At the moment, it has gone from 61 MW in 2015 to more than 3 GW in 2021, with 688 MW added in 2020 alone.

Improvements in efficiency and the drastic reduction in the cost of photovoltaic panels have allowed solar energy to become a fundamental part of the energy mix. However, it is necessary to have cleaning processes that prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris on the panels, ensuring their proper functioning and increasing their efficiency.
