At Iberdrola we have proven experience in the field of electricity grids, with one of the most important distribution systems in the world, comprising more than 1.3 million kilometres of distribution and transmission lines, more than 4,500 substations and more than 1.6 million transformers, built and operated to provide high quality and reliable service to more than 33.67 million supply points around the globe.
Our firm commitment to grids is reflected in our strategic plan, where we plan to invest 21,500 million euros in grids in the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil and Spain, representing more than half of our total investment. We continue to work on grid modernisation, digitalisation and automation as a key element to guarantee the massive incorporation of renewables in the near future, as well as to promote the electrification of transportation, buildings and industry.
