Executive Leadership: maximising operational efficiency
Iberdrola Group’s business model is based on the coexistence of a decentralised structure of decision-making processes and the global integration of the business.
The management team of Iberdrola, as a holding company, handles the organisation and strategic coordination of the Group. This duty is performed through the dissemination, implementation, and monitoring of the general strategy, the Corporate Policies and the basic management guidelines established by the Company's Board of Directors for the entire Group.
The Group's business model, which guides the actions of the management team, is based on the coexistence of a decentralised decision-making structure and the global integration of its different businesses. It favours an agile and swift decision-making process for day-to-day management, which is handled by the head companies of the businesses, while ensuring appropriate coordination at the Group level through the subholdings.
This model aims to maximise the operational efficiency of the various business units through the exchange of best practices between the companies of the Group, without undermining their freedom to make decisions, in particular the framework for strengthened autonomy of the listed subholding companies Avangrid, Inc. and Neoenergia, S.A., which prevents interference from other Group companies with the powers granted to them by the Corporate Governance System.
All decisions and the day-to-day activities of the management team are guided by the principles outlined in the purpose and values of the Iberdrola Group, which encompass the Group's corporate philosophy and are reflected in the Corporate Policies and other regulations of the Corporate Governance System.
